2025 Programme
What is Japan Climate Connect?
Japan Climate Connect (JCC) invites promising energy sector and sustainability ventures to present their solutions to our network of subscribers from the Japanese energy industry via a Zoom Webinar format. The goal is to build relationships that result in collaborations, sales, investment, and other forms of support to help grow the invited companies in Japan.
The programme has led to significant investment for numerous participants (including from our affiliated Japan Energy Fund), as well as pilot projects and sales agreements between our Subscribers and ventures.
How does it work?

Scouting
Japan Climate Connect (JCC) hosts monthly webinars, with the JCC team actively scouting and inviting promising startups to present. Companies that believe they are a good fit can apply through our standard application form, while those approached directly by JCC will be invited to apply via a fast-track process.
Webinars
The JCC team reviews all applications and selects 20–30 companies annually to present at webinars held on a monthly basis. Selected companies will be notified and required to sign a programme participation agreement, covering the terms, conditions, and confidentiality protocols for sharing information with Subscribers and the JCC team.
Each selected company will be invited to present its solution and relevant case studies to our network of Subscribers. Prior to the webinar, the JCC team will prepare a deep-dive analysis report based on the submitted materials, which will also be shared during the webinar. If a Subscriber expresses interest following the presentation, JCC will facilitate an introductory meeting between the company and the interested party.
JCC-Hosted Events
Startups that have presented at JCC webinars may also be invited to participate in exclusive JCC-hosted events, including summits held in Tokyo, Japan. These events provide opportunities for alumni companies to network with Subscribers and JCC’s broader partner ecosystem.
Outcomes for Startups
We want to do everything we can to help all participants succeed in the Japanese energy sector and aim to have all participants producing a viable plan for pilot projects, sales agreements, coordinated development, or other forms of collaboration.
We are very fortunate to have had several successful outcomes from participation in our programmes past and present. Please click on the photos to learn more, or read more of our success stories here.
