Since 2018, our JCC programme has attracted a steady stream of start-ups keen to enter the Japanese energy market and pitch their business to key decision-makers there.
For a number of alumni the programme has led to significant investment from and partnerships with JCC subscribers.

Witricity receives investment from Japan Energy Fund through its Decarbonized Tech Fund managed by Japan Energy Capital. Together with ENECHANGE, Witricity exhibited at a Japanese mobility show, showcasing its wireless EV charging technology.

JGC Corporation announced a partnership with Energy Dome to conduct a feasibility study of its CO2 Battery Technology.

GHGSat receives investment from the Japan Energy Fund through its Decarbonized Tech Fund managed by Japan Energy Capital. GHGSat, based out of Montreal, Canada, is a global leader in greenhouse gas emissions intelligence.

Energy Dome receives investment from Japan Energy Fund through its Decarbonized Tech Fund managed by Japan Energy Capital. Based in Italy, Energy Dome has developed an innovative large-scale, long-duration energy storage solution, which manipulates and stores CO2 under different conditions and is able to absorb from and discharge to the grid.

Natel Energy receives investment from the Japan Energy Fund through its Decarbonized Tech Fund managed by Japan Energy Capital. Natel Energy is a US-based sustainable energy company that offers both a proprietary, fish-safe Restoration Hydro Turbine design and a SaaS solution called HydroForecast.

Piclo receives investment from Japan Energy Fund through its Decarbonized Tech Fund managed by Japan Energy Capital. Piclo is a UK-based company that offers an online marketplace for flexibility trading.

Svante receives investment from the Japan Energy Fund through its Decarbonized Tech Fund managed by Japan Energy Capital. Svante, a Canadian company, was founded with the goal to make carbon capture solutions for hard-to-abate industries. They offer non-intrusive end-of-the-pipe solutions for existing industrial infrastructure to deliver pipeline-ready CO2 for safe storage at the giga-tonne (GT) scale.

OhmConnect receives investment from the Japan Energy Fund through its Decarbonized Tech Fund managed by Japan Energy Capital. OhmConnect is a U.S. company that offers a demand response (DR) service for homes, where users receive rewards when they reduce their energy use to help balance the grid.

ZincFive receives investment from Japan Energy Fund through its Decarbonized Tech Fund managed by Japan Energy Capital. ZincFive is the world leader in innovation and delivery of nickel-zinc batteries and power solutions.

Akselos receives investment from the Japan Energy Fund to help further offshore wind generation through its digital twin technology.
